Microsoft Has Launched The New Free MSE Antivirus - The MSE Beta Version Has Expired

Valid until 31 January 2015 (unless noted)
Microsoft Security Essentials or MSE Antivirus software, which has been available since the MSE beta version from June 2009, has launched the final version of the MSE software, yesterday, September 29, 2009. Thus the beta version has been expired. The final MSE Software can be used by public starting from today September 29/30 2009 for free.

The free MSE / Microsoft Security Essentials is designed to protect computer users from viruses, spyware and other malicious software. In its official statement, Microsoft confirmed that it did not intend to compete with giants such as security vendors Symantec and McAfee, which offers paid antivirus products to the public. Microsoft's own goal to the efforts tend to be more persuasive, namely, to persuade or invite customers to realize the importance of installing antivirus software.

With the Microsoft Security Essentials, users can enjoy high-class protection that easily obtained and used, without the need to think about the payment. MSE software will provide daily updates to remain protected from the latest virus threats.
The minimum system requirements for Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) are as follows:
- Operating System Windows XP SP2 or SP3, Vista SP1 or SP2, Windows 7
- 500MHz processor clock and 1GB RAM for XP or 1GHz processor and 1GB RAM for Win Vista or Windows7
- Supports VGA 800x600 resolution
- 140mb of hard disk space
- Internet connection to install and update virus definitions or the latest spyware
- Browser IE 6 or Firefox 2 to the top

This new software at least has two advantages compared with the solutions offered by other manufacturers. First, this software made by Microsoft, a company that is familiar to computer users around the world. Second, the MSE software is free, which makes consumers no longer need to use a similar solution made by other manufacturers. The technology of real-time protection and Dynamic Signature Service is used to make the user to be protected from the virus without having to wait for Microsoft's regular update schedule.

Excellent. I have been using free virus protection for years but having a free Microsoft solution is even better.

I have been using Norton 360. I wonder which one is better.
