youtu.be and goo.gl – Youtube and Google URL Shortener

Several weeks ago, Google announced goo.gl – the URL Shortener service, and now youtube has done the same thing, which named youtu.be. As its name, the URL shortener objective is to make a link shorter, in other word, has fewer characters. So, with shorter URL we can share, tweet and email the link easier. For now Google URL Shortener is currently available only for Google products.

Youtu.be is the url shortener access youtube videos. Unfortunately, to embed video, the url is still too long. Unlike the bit.ly url shortener which uses only 20 characters. The Youtube shortener URL uses 27 characters. You can use the url and share it with other people on facebook, twitter or Google Reader.

For example, to create short url for http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C8wMtRiwNHQ, you can make it short by change it to http://youtu.be/C8wMtRiwNHQ.

You must be know about special symbols such as heart (♥), musical notes (♫), copyright (©), smiley face (☺), trade mark (™) and etc. But, do you know how to make these symbols? Actually there’s an easy way to create these symbols and it is fun. You can make symbols with your keyboard, using the alt key. Moreover, you can post the symbols on social network site / tools such as Facebook, MySpace and Instant Messenger. Not only that, you can also create symbols on office documents, such as microsoft word, notepad, wordpad, microsoft powerpoint, and etc.

For PC keyboard
Make sure you turn on the Num Lock. Use the combination (join) of "Alt" key and numbers on numeric keypad, not the horizontal numbers!
For example, to make a heart symbol, press and hold "Alt" key – then press 3 in the same time.

For Laptop Keyboard
Laptop users can also make special symbols using the "Alt" key as well. First, you have to activate the num lock, press Fn and F11(NumLk). Now your keypad numbers are M(0), J(1), K(2), L(3), ...and so forth.

ISO extension file is a type of archive file, often used as disk image as a backup. Now .ISO extension has become popular, there are times we find it on daily computing activities or when we browse the internet. Another good alternative to open ISO file is by using virtual drive software such as MagicISO (this is a good freeware too :D). How it works? It creates virtual CD drives in your computer. An ISO file can be mounted on virtual drive as a virtual CD, so your mission is to mount ISO file on virtual drive created by MagicISO, then you will be able to access / open ISO file via the virtual drive. Moreover, you can do more iso operations with this freeware, such as create ISO image, convert ISO, burn image, create a bootable CD/DVD and etc. I’m sorry I can’t provide you with detail explanation and screenshoot, maybe other time.

Actually there are many more software that can help you to open ISO file. But I think both methods which I explained above are the easy/effective way plus free, hope they can be the best answer for how to open ISO files.

How to Enable Show Hidden Files When Disabled By Virus

Infected by viruses is very annoying. Yesterday I helped my friend to remove virus on his computer. After I clean up the virus with antivirus, there is still a problem, virus has changed the Windows system registry, and makes the folder option "show hidden files and folders" doesn’t work. It means that when I select (checked) the show hidden files option and click apply, it always rolls back to "Do not show hidden files and folders". Have you experienced the same problem? Don’t worry, in this post I want to share a trick to enable show hidden files and folders and cure your system registry, so you can show again your important files, such as hidden Microsoft word, PDF, txt, movie files, Microsoft PowerPoint and etc.

First of all, make sure that you have removed all viruses with antivirus, otherwise virus probably won’t allow you to access / edit the registry editor and this method will not work. Then apply these following steps to solve the "show hidden files and folders" problem:

1. Click start menu button
2. Choose "Run" if you use Win XP, or click start search for Vista and Windows 7
Type "regedit" in the box then click / press enter to open windows registry editor



3. Browse to the following folder

My Computer \ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ Advanced \ Folder \ Hidden \ SHOWALL

4. Look at the right window
- Change the "CheckedValue" data value to 1.
- Make sure that the "DefaultValue" data value is 2.
- And make sure that both of CheckedValue and DefaultValue is "REG_DWORD" type. Also make sure that name value "Type" has REG_SZ type and has "radio" data value.

5. Done...



Now open windows explorer - go to Folder Option – click tab "View" and select "Show Hidden Files and Folders" then click apply. Now you can see your hidden files again :D Don’t forget to update your antivirus regularly to prevent this problem.

How To Set Up Remote Computer?

Remote computer is useful to take control computer with another computer, so you can access all programs and perform operations such as Microsoft office word, Excel, PowerPoint and others in remote computer using another computer. If you want to create or set up remote computers, just follow to these steps.
1. If you want to remote / control computer A, it is necessary to set the computer A. Create a username and password (in the Control Panel -> User Accounts)

Samsung has launched two handsets, the Samsung Diva S7070 and S5150 Olivia. Looks like those cell phones are projected to continue Samsung’s success in the mid-range class mobile phone, to continue the success of corby B3210 and samsung Corby S3650 series. By looking at their figure, they have feminine looks, in other word they are cool gadget for women. However, both have different models each other, Samsung Diva S7070 is a touch screen phone, while Samsung S5150 based on clamshell model.

Create Bootable Windows Setup on USB Flash Drive (For Win 7, 2008, XP, Vista, 2003)

Hello everyone, in this post I want to share how to create bootable windows setup on USB flash drive. With this trick you can build your windows setup, including windows 7, XP, Vista, 2003 and 2008. You know that most of OS installer comes with CD or DVD and usually we do install them to computer with CD/DVD drive. But now, there are many netbook that don’t have optical drive. And maybe in the future we will no longer using CD/DVD (is it possible?...we’ll see :D). The easy way to create bootable USB flash windows installer is by using software. I recommend you to use Novicorp WinToFlash. Why? Because it is easy to operate, fast and save your time...and most importantly, it is a freeware software, so you can download Novicorp WinToFlash and use it for free.

How to use Novicorp WinToFlash?
All you need to create USB flash bootable windows setup are USB drive (flash, thumb, pen drive, etc.) and the windows setup CD. First, you have to download Novicorp WinToFlash and extract the .rar file (If you don’t have winRAR you can extract it using free 7Zip). Double click the WinToFlash application file to run the program.

You can either run the wizard or select the “task” tab to create bootable windows on USB flash drive. Both methods are easy, but if you’re not sure, I recommend you to use the wizard.

For example, we will use wizard, click the “Windows setup transfer wizard”, then click next...



Select the windows files path (CD drive or folder location that contains windows setup files), and select the USB drive location, then click next.



Please wait while the program create your windows setup on USB drive



Once it finished, click next and exit. Now you have bootable windows setup on USB flash drive.
